There are many benefits of using Ubuntu over other operating systems. It is faster, easier to install software, no fear of virus, easy to operate etc. Every linux computer user should try Ubuntu at least once. Its very easy to create a bootable USB flash drive or Pen Drive with a small self-contained application called UNetbootin. It also downloads Ubuntu from the internet. Now follow the below mentioned simple rules and start making your own bootable USB flash drive now.
Requirements:
- Ø UNetbootin software free download ( no required installation )
- Ø Minimum 1 GB Pen Drive.
Procedure:
Step-1: Run UNetbootin.
Step-2: Click Distribution.
- Select Ubuntu from select Distribution .
- Select 9.10_Live from select Version .
- Select 9.10_Live_x64 for 64- bit system.
Step-3: Insert the pen drive with your system; make sure that it is empty.
Select Drive type from the menu: type ? USB Drive
Name the drive : Drive ? J:\
Then click ok . UNetbootin will start working. First of all, it will download Ubuntu Live CD from the internet. After that, it will copy the files from the Ubuntu Live CD to your flash drive\Pen Drive.
Once downloading completes successfully, it starts copying the files from Ubuntu Live CD to Pen Drive.
Whole process hardly takes 15 to 20 minutes. Once its completed, click exit.
Finally, your Bootable USB Flash drive or Pen Drive is ready. You can install Ubuntu in your system.
